The web version of WhatsApp now lets users turn ordinary images saved on their devices into stickers. The new built-in custom sticker maker of WhatsApp allows users to create and send to other people their own stickers, via instant messaging.
The new custom sticker maker feature is free to use, and the stickers created come without any watermarks on. If you want to try it out, just open the application from your browser and click on the clip icon (used to attach files) within any chat. Next, select Sticker, and choose an image to upload.
As Position Mobile has learned from The Verge, “An outline can be drawn around a picture’s subject to cut out the background, and images can also be cropped (though always in a square aspect ratio). Emoji, text, and additional WhatsApp stickers can also be layered on top of your sticker creations.”
It’s worth to mention that apart from the browser version, the sticker maker will also reach the WhatsApp’s desktop application on the upcoming week. There are plenty of custom-made sticker applications available on iOS and Android. However, WhatsApp is as far as we know the only messaging app that has this feature built in.
